Pastel de la série "sérénité"
Ce sont les premiers tableaux dans lesquels j'ai donné plus d'importance à ce que l'on pouvait ressentir face au portrait plus qu'au portrait lui même.
La reproduction d'un visage juste pour le visage ne m'intéresse plus.
La personne qui acquerra ce tableau possédera une oeuvre phare de la transition de mon travail d'artisan portraitiste à celui d'artiste. Les tableaux de cette période sont pour moi une chrysalide.

This pastel belongs to the series entitled « Serenity ».
In this series I deliberately placed more emphasis on what the viewer could feel in front of the picture rather than focus on the portrait itself.
The faithful representation of a face, just for the sake of producing a trustworthy image of a reality, does not interest me anymore.
The person who will acquire this painting will own a leading art-piece heralding a change in my craft : the transition from a portrait painter to a fully-fledged artist. With this statement painting, I have definitely come out of my shell.
