J'ai peint "Sauve qui peut" dans un élan de rage, une envie de fuite. Ce sentiment d'oppression
que je ressentais était proche de la noyade. Ce dernier élan de vie avant de toucher le fond je l'ai traduit sur la toile par ce chat qui se débat dans un environnement qui n'est pas le sien, harcelé par ces poissons multicolores pourtant d'habitude bien inoffensifs.
Dans cette oeuvre on voit d'une part , ce que j'ai voulu peindre et d'autre part la rage que j'ai ressenti dans les rayures de la peinture.
C'est un tableau ambigu entre espoir et cauchemar, une oeuvre à la fois sombre et éclatante mais toutefois extrêmement décorative par ses couleurs. Un tableau idéal pour un intérieur contemporain.

I painted « Run-for-your-Life » in an outpouring of rage, a desperate feeling, a yearning to escape. The sense of oppression I experienced was almost similar to the impression one has on the point of drowning. It is as if, on hitting rock-bottom, you were suddenly sent back to the surface, in a last-ditch attempt for a gasp of fresh air. It is that feeling that I wished to convey on the canvas. The cat seems to be wrestling in a hostile environment, so unfamiliar to him. He is being harrassed by these colourful fish, otherwise harmless creatures.
In this art-piece we can behold a dual vision. On the one hand we can actually see what I meant to represent visually. On the other hand we can discern the sense of the rage I felt (as epitomized by the nervous scratchings featuring on the canvas).

This ambiguous artwork wavers between hope and nightmare. It offers both a sombre and a dazzling sight.
