La Joconde s'est échappée du Louvre pour découvrir la Capitale.
Cette oeuvre est mon premier tableau d'inspiration "graffiti", j'ai repris le pastel après une période de peinture à l'huile et j'ai envie de m'éloigner de mon travail précédent.
Je conserve un rendu figuratif mais ensuite, tel un graff posé sur un mur, je construis les vêtements et l'environnement autour de ce visage. Ce ne sont pas des gribouillis, chaque coup de pastel est une véritable signature. Ce tableau est surprenant car il mélange les différentes techniques que j'ai apprivoisées avec les années et le laissé aller de mon influx nerveux à qui je demande de prendre place dans l'oeuvre.

Mona Lisa has just escaped from the Louvre to go and explore the City of Lights.
This art-piece is the first painting I made with a graffiti-inspired technique.
After an enjoyable spell extensively using oil paint, I felt the need for a change. To proceed with this move, I decided to resort back to the use of pastel.
This figurative graphic rendering of the famous masterpiece is highly recognizable. However, similar to the way graffitis are made, I first worked on tailoring the clothes, giving them shape and then built up the environment around the character’s face.
I was not doodling. Quite the opposite in fact. Each single stroke with my pastel is a signature. This surprising artwork is a clever combination of different artistic techniques which I have mastered over the last few years. Add to that, the spontaneous, impulsive creative spirit which visually features on the canvass and the whole picture is quite animated.
This is an ideal acquisition for collectors with a keen eye for innovative art.
