"L'attente" c'est l'histoire de deux bateaux que je n'ai jamais vu bouger.
Avec le temps je me suis dit qu'ils méritaient un portrait.
J'en ai fait deux compagnons qui attendent là tranquillement un prochain départ.
J'ai réalisé cette peinture au couteau sur un fond clair pour accompagner la légèreté du sujet.
Cette scène immobile je l'ai soulignée par quelques grattés de couteau illustrant les amarres qui entourent les bateaux à marrée basse.
Cette marine très détaillée ravira les amoureux de la mer et des bateaux.

 The Wait » narrates the story of two boats which never set sail.
As time went by, I thought they deserved to be painted.
In the picture -executed with a palette knife- the two nautical companions seem to be waiting for a forthcoming departure.
They are set against a light background, which enables me to enhance their inherent sense of lightness.
To convey the powerful impression stemming from this motionless scene and the finely chiselled moorings -only visible at low-tide-, I additionally scratched the paint with the palette knife.
This very detailed seascape will be an enchanting sight to all those who love the sea and are fond of boating.
